This project is situated in Yunnan Province, China. The client developed an upscale villa community within a local forest wellness resort, with the primary objective of generating revenue through villa sales. To accommodate visitors coming to view the properties on-site, temporary lodging facilities were required. Initially, the client planned to construct 100 small cabins; however, with each unit costing as much as 200,000 RMB, the overall capital investment would have been substantial. In contrast, the construction costs for “Star Domes” are significantly lower; therefore, the client ultimately opted to build 40 cabins alongside with 60 Star Domes (measuring 3.5m wide x 6.5m long).
Each Star Dome features an interior floor area of 20 square meters, comprising distinct living and bathroom zones separated by a partition. The structure’s exterior requires no additional finishing work; once assembled, the interior simply requires basic decoration using soft furnishings. The short construction cycle, rapid deployment, and low labor costs keep the project’s overall costs within a highly manageable range. Traditional housing structures, conversely, often necessitate significant financial investment in interior renovation—with materials, transportation, and labor constituting substantial expenses.
